long walk

Another beautiful summers day but with some hazy cloud for a long period. Perfect for a circular walk starting from Youlgrave and going through Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale, one of the best limestone valleys in the area. I had planned a 5-6 miles walk but we chose to go the opposite way around from our usual route and I missed an intended path over the meadows as we climbed out of Lathkill. This resulted in 8 miles being covered and an extra down and uphill section (but it was well worth it).  Lesley and Jean are blipped on the bank of the river Lathkill our stopping point for a picnic. The walk had started in cafe in Youlgrave and ended in a pub for a well earned cold drink. Days out in the Peaks don't get much better than this.
Pleasantly tired we got home and did salmon on the bbq with a big salad for another alfresco evening.
