Garnkirk

Peat for bulb fibre and horse bedding was extracted from this site until the 1940's. Now nature has returned it to this natural wild and beautiful landscape.

My extra photo is part of the ruins of nearby Gartloch Grain Distillery which closed in 1921 due to a recession.
