Yea, Though I Walk ....

.... through The Valley Of The Rocks.
We've come down to the twin towns of Lynton & Lynmouth in North Devon for a couple of nights' break in a very pleasant B&B in Lynton on the cliffs above Lynmouth which, as the name suggests is a picturesque harbour town on the mouth of the River Lyn. In 1952 most of Lynmouth was destroyed ina terrible flood when torrential rain caused the river to surge down its narrow gorge. It was looking much more sedate today.

We stopped off at Blue Anchor bay near Minehead on the way down for coffee then had a stroll around both towns before walking the coastpath firmly to the Valley of the Rocks where this blip was taken. As you can see, the unusual rock formations make for a pretty dramatic coastline.

Just got back from dinner in a pub in Lynmouth. The steep climb back up for the second time in a day has hopefully worked off some of the calories created by fish and chips, mincemeat tart and ice cream and two pints of Old Speckled Hen!

24000 steps done today and a bit more walking planned tomorrow.
