Leaving St Ives

The road out was interesting with these beds of pink campion (well, ragged robin I think) set in rough grass.  An interesting alternative to the usual plantings if not quite the full wild verge.  They went on for miles. I wonder what will be there in high summer? They look too dense to have other plants coming through.   The roads were also lined with cops a nd security as the insane arrival of the G7 started to make itself felt.

Rather long drive home via the A35 through Dorset but stunning views and villages in lovely light so I was in the end glad we’d done it.

Dog went nuts when we picked him up from his first trip to kennels.
