Marsden rock ...

Day out at the coast today. This shot is taken of Marsden Rock which is situated in Marsden, South Shields and is owned by the National Trust. It is home to many sea bird colonies such as Black-legged Kittiwakes, Gulls and Cormorants. We were lucky enough to catch the low tide and could get very close to it, at high tide it is completely surrounded by water.

After a bracing walk along the beach we had lunch at Colmans, a legendary family owned fish and chips restaurant in South Shields, the UK's Number 1. They even have a chalk board up telling its customers which fishing boat brought home the fish which is cooked freshly every day. I would highly recommend it to any locals out there, or it is well worth a visit to any of you blippers from a little further afield ...
