Inversion Layer

In my opinion, this is the worst time of the year in Wanaka. We have inversion layers that can hang around for days - sometimes they are very low, and this photo is a moderately low cloud. It makes it very chilly!
PreCovid days, many people (who could afford to), left Wanaka for the Gold Coast in Australia or one of the Pacific Islands. Now that isn’t so easy!
However, we can often drive to local places like the Snow Farm; Queenstown or Glendhu Bay and be in the sun there for a while.

We still go out walking; Jill was in the garden all afternoon- we just wrap up! Friends who have just moved from Dunedin to Wanaka to live are coming for dinner tonight. I wonder how they are coping?!

Thank you for your positive comments on my ICM photo yesterday - at least Frida provided a dash of colour :)
