The Welcome Cafe

This is the Welcome Cafe, beside the Exeter Ship Canal. It was once the Welcome Inn. The original canal was constructed in the 1560's, though it was subsequently widened and deepened several times. Today it is mainly used for leisure, but in places still retains the feel of a working canal.
