Picnic spot

A lovely but steep hike today with a vertical elevation of over 700m to the pretty, historic town of Salvan. We followed the old horse and carriage track built in 1850s which involved 37 hairpin bends! Amazing views and beautiful forest and streams. We had our picnic in the little square in Salvan by this delightful statue - blip, before taking the train ( Mont Blanc Express) back down to our starting point. Shopping on the way home and with a tea and cake treat at the tearooms.
