If

This is not just any old Cranberry and Pecan Baton. This is a Marks and Spencer Cranberry and Pecan Baton. Even better, it’s a FREE Marks and Spencer Cranberry and Pecan Baton!
The latest Sparks offer was for a free loaf of bread from the instore bakery. Expecting to be limited to a basic loaf, we were very pleased to learn the specialist ones were included as well. We do like the Cranberry and Pecan one but would normally only have it as a special treat. But, hey, when it’s free we’re not going to refuse. And very nice it was too. Not sure how long it will keep, but as there’s less than half of it left now, that might not be an issue.
Temporarily decamped to Chester for a few days. Partly to check up on mother, who is suffering from a recent fall (nothing broken, just a fair few bruises), and partly to have a little break from home. It’s a lot warmer down here and if the weather holds out we might head to the North Wales coast for a day out. Or visit the Zoo. Let’s see how the weather turns out over the next couple of days. Hopefully manage a run along my favourite stretch of canal if it’s cool enough first thing in the morning.
And for those wondering about today’s title. Well, there have been very few songs written about bread products, but there was a very fine group, featuring David Gates, in the seventies. “If” was one of their better known hits and they were called “Bread” (I did briefly think about using something by The Cranberries, but decided that was maybe being a bit too obscure!)
