Why “Mumble” about the weather

We do …… Because it was raining when we got up and it continued for most of the day.

But being the intrepid travellers that we are, off we went to explore.

Our first stop was the seaside town of Mumbles where we walked along the promenade and the old Victorian pier (looks like a big restoration job is ongoing.) 

Then we came across our first Welsh Dragon.

 After coffee and cake our next quest was to find the ruins of Pennard Castle but we were waylaid by the views of the stunning coastline.

Our walk ended with a stop for  refreshments at the Southgate bar and lounge where Mr PC tried out the locally named ale Gower Gold - highly recommended by the locals. Monty and Stanley won the heart of the landlady who then disappeared into the kitchen and returned with some black pudding.

Weather forecast not good for the next couple of days but we will persevere.
