SWMBO went and talked to them yesterday. Apparently this was a foundry, they know that yesterday's hole is a shaft, and think it might have been a well. Pure speculation of course, but archaeologists like nothing better than a good bit of speculation. Strange people...

Would be a laugh if they found a John Lewis invoice for the office chairs - only saying.
