The Green Dragon

An Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly. I just love their coloring! The Dragonflies are everywhere! Since the rains have started to be more of a typical occurrence every afternoon, the insects have been experiencing their own 'buggy' population explosion. Thank goodness for the reptilian and amphibian predators! I brought a bucketful of Southern Toad tadpoles home from the large pond at the DogPark this morning and released them in our bog! Around 10% of them grow into adult  hungry Toads and the rest will become food for other creatures in our yard.
