Stowaways

A pied wagtail has built a nest under the sail cover on our boat in our absence. We were rather surprised when it flew out. Inside we found the nest with three eggs. The extra shows where it is.

I've discovered that 'The female incubates for a period of twelve to fourteen days. They young are tended by both parents and leave the nest after fourteen to fifteen days'.

It's just as well we have no plans to go sailing any time soon.
