Crowned Lemurs

A trip to Howletts, the Aspinall Wild Life Park near Canterbury today. The first time for decades.

An excellent day, the place was quiet, too quiet really which gave us lots of space and plenty of opportunity to see the animals.

We had a lunch before going into the park at a farm shop nearby, local produce, very tasty and a fine pint. Very expensive with small servings so not good value for money. Nice setting though.

The gorillas were conspicuous by their absence early in the afternoon. By the time we were leaving one or two duty gorillas made an appearance at the back of their enclosure.

The elephants were a wonder to watch, the rhinos engaged elsewhere. Good to see the big cats too. We really enjoyed the lemur walk where we were able to get close to the animals as you can see. The extra shows how the best way to while away a day.
