Regeneration

The area of Winstanley which was once part of Blundells collieries, and locally known as the Tips, from the slag heaps, is now a conservation area which is being cultivated as a woodmeadow, an area specifically designed around trees, wild grasses and flowers, interspersed with public walkways.
The orange ponds are the filtration systems to clean the water coming from the old mine workings so that that clean water can then feed the local river system without contamination.
