Cascading

Today in the rain we have driven to Milford Sound and the road in is spectacular but even more so today with water cascading down every rocky surface.  The streams are also full of tumbling water.
The posh accomodation looks as advertised.  Off for a drive now so will finish later.
We drove to the terminal where the cruise boats leave from.  All closed up for the day and the carpark empty.  The big hotel here is also closed.  In the extras is the waterfall just along from the terminal and crayfish/lobster pots.  Fishing is still happening if tourists aren't.  This morning back in TeAnau the forester talked to the policeman who was also filling up with fuel.  He said at this time of year there would be 300 vehicles a day driving to Milford and now it is 50.  We saw maybe 5.
This evening we dine in the dinning room and I think I will have the venison because it will be warm and comes with roasted vegetables.
I hope there will be a break in the rain tomorrow and i can show you the tall peaks surrounding this area.
