Chinese bulbul nest

I prefer the Chinese bulbul taxonomy to the alternative name, Light Vented Bulbul. Who wants to hear about their vents?

Two of the three eggs in this nest hatched out this morning. I hope the third follows suit in due course. The Chinese Bulbul seems much more timid and guarded than the Red Whiskered variety so we’re trying to keep our distance even though it’s very exciting.

Extra is mochi cake from Bundt mould. It took twice the recommended time to cook and I think this hasn’t really turned out welll but it’s good to try new stuff.
