Semer Water

We have never walked this before, but it was less than a 3 mile diversion on the way home from Hawes - and such a beautiful summers day - how could we not.
I’ve included a montage from some of the most beautiful wildflower meadows I have ever walked in - maybe it was the feel of the day, but the curlews were flying round us in the late afternoon light, and the swathes of yellow rattle under the buttercups in the sunshine were just such a picture. Farther along we saw a lapwing which seemed to be hanging around - perhaps it had some chicks and a red legged partridge on the roof of an old stone cottage at the tiny hamlet of Marsett. Ragged robin and the wild orchids near the ruined WesleyanChapel.
The drive home in the evening light down from Hawes through Buckden to Kettlewell was beautiful too..
Needed a bit of fester time today,
I’ve got behind with keeping up with your journals - I will hopefully catch up this week.
Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend
