My topsy-turvy life

Zoo times

We finally got to use our Chester Zoo membership today. It's been a few months since we last visited and, if anything, Owen was even more enthusiastic this time round...especially about the elephants and -sleeping- lions. It was certainly better weather than last time and, even though it meant more queues that Owen really didn't want to hang around in, it was a really nice family day out. We even all ended up in a maze chasing Owen around as he sprinted around it laughing, screaming and generally having a brilliant time.
The only disappointment was not seeing Barry's family as Chester now have Europe's first sifakas. Oh well, maybe next time.

Once home we were playing in the garden when I popped in to see what was happening in the Denmark-Finland match to see a player lying on the ground. I assumed it must have been a clash of heads or something but quickly realised, as physios and doctors rushed onto the pitch that it was something much more serious. To see Christian Eriksen receiving cpr being a wall of Danish players was deeply worrying and I'm so glad that he now appears to be recovering. It reminds you that anything can happen at any time.
