Bee-ing busy

Several busy bees in my garden today, including me! This bee looks like it’s been hit by the bird poo that’s splattered on the shed below it, but it hasn’t! Not sure what it is though. Can it be white pollen? It looked like paint on closer inspection, but I haven’t been wielding any about at home lately.
