Spring gentians

Or Frühlings Entian, plus many many more wild flower species, this hike was like a dream. We left the campsite with the friends at about 9.30, and drove up to Palfries, a long windy mountain road which gets you up to 1,700m. A little Dear ran over the road in front of us, the first surprise of the day. First, we hiked up the Gonzen, 1829m, an amazing viewpoint, getting very excited at all the wildflower species, about 3 hours walk. Then we drove around a bit further, then did another walk around to Stalrüfi mountain restaurant. Here we had a cake, and of course a wonderful special coffee., this was another 2 hours walking there and back. Even more wonderful flowers and stunning views of the Churfirsten mountain Range.
We had booked a table at the Maiensäss Restaurant half way down. Beautiful food, beautiful views. Back at the campsite we had to try some special schnapps made by our friend, made with mountain cowslips.
