Blue times four

The sky was blue from dawn to dusk, the sea too at our favourite little bay where the water always sparkles and ripples more than anywhere else

In the rock pools beadlet anemones revealed their collars of electric blue spots (acrorhagi, the stinging cells with which they repel others of their kind) while beside the stream common blue damselflies flickered among the rushes.

Another damselfly  failed to compete in the blueness stakes  but lived up to its name of Beautiful Demoiselle with shades of iridescent toffee, bronze and green.
