A long overdue catch-up

Quick trip round the stream this morning turned into a slightly longer walk as we met several dogs being walked before 8 - obviously a busy time!

I did something I haven’t done for months - travelled on a train to Tweedbank to meet a friend from school that I haven’t seen since we had a reunion back in 2001. He’s a PE teacher near Melrose and had an unexpected day off so had suggested we meet up.

We had a lovely catch up at Abbotsford House - home to Sir Walter Scott. We didn’t go into the house but enjoyed a walk in the grounds before lunch in the cafe. We then had a little drive round some nearby towns/villages before walking by the river in Melrose and down the High street (makes note to come back and visit the lovely looking independent shops) before he dropped me back at the station. It was a lovely few hours and the train felt very safe so that was a bonus.

Home to discuss our dinner plans and we ended up back at an old haunt which accepts dogs. Phin loves it as they supply large bowls of water and saucers of dog biscuits.

Thanks for all your lovely comments and stars - I’d mostly caught up on journals by yesterday so hopefully won’t get too far behind again!

Tiny Tuesday tomorrow has an optional theme of Blue with a tag of TT316. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
