Green

It was our monthly Wetlands Bird Survey today. June isn't the best month, as it is the earliest sunrise of the year, and as everything is beginning to green up, it is harder to see the birds and they are less vocal, having bred and are now busy provisioning young, rather than drawing attention to themselves. For this shot, the green is reflected in the water to form a background for this solitary Great-crested Grebe,
Another surprising sighting was a Roe Deer that had somehow got onto the path between a high wall and the reservoir, and seemed a little stressed  as it was struggling to find its way back into the fields. It's a busy area -full of joggers and dog walkers, so I hope it managed to escape before it got too busy. See extras
