Poppy

I had wondered what was growing by the gateway, then gradually I noticed Poppy Buds, then Poppies; but someone or something broke the plant at the base, so I picked it up & cut all the budding growth off & put them in water.
This morning this beauty opened to the surprise of Christopher.
When sorting out things at home we came across this Doll & straight away I said "Christopher!", I remember him from when my children were small & I think it may have been my Middle son that named him.
