Poetry

Today I went for a walk along the Tavistock canal. I don't understand poetry and have never been taught how to write it, but this morning I felt inspired to begin to compose a poem that I have titled "The Copper Lode". The inspiration came from the underside of a small bridge spanning the canal, where the stone on the underside is stained blue and green by the copper ore. My poem is not finished yet and I feel excited that this is the start of new journey. The image here shows another aspect of the canal, with a topical theme. Hopefully, England's hopes in the football will not be this deflated!
