Crinkliness

This is the first of my new poppies to emerge.  I think it is one of the most beautiful poppies I have ever seen.  I love the colour and I love the texture of the petals.  I am looking forward to the other buds opening too.

I planted the first lot of sunflower seedlings today.  The soil in the front garden where I want them to go is very hard and stony but I hope they will survive and bloom beautifully.

There was a bit of a catastrophe today when the lawn mower wouldn't start.  The engineer (Rob) couldn't get it going either so it might have to go to the lawnmower hospital.  Meanwhile I can almost see the grass growing as I watch...
