Had a road trip to Inveraray today...... going over the Rest and Be Thankful after Arrochar is a nightmare, I really pity people who have to do it regularly.  They constantly seem to be working at it, but need to go to Norway, or Austria, or Iceland to see how to fix things.

However, on arriving at Inveraray we had lunch at the war memorial look across Loch Fyne, wonderful view, and then we walked in the grounds of the Castle for a bit..... it is really beautiful there, and we had a good walk.

My blip is of Ben Arthur (The Cobbler) from Arrochar, a fine wee hill climb, much more difficult than it would appear as you climb from sea level.  While taking this I spotted a heron down at the wrecked pier, and so have put on an extra.

The view as you approach Inveraray is a favourite view of mine so had to upload a shot of that, and then of course one of the castle.

We stopped at Balloch on the way home and had a high tea, so I don't have to cook this evening, always nice.
