Ushering In A New Era Of Boundless Depravity

On This Day In History
1905: First nickelodeon opens

Quote Of The Day
"Those who are 'interested in the poor' are wondering whether the five-cent theatre is a good influence, and asking themselves gravely whether it should be encouraged."
(Joseph Medill Patterson, Saturday Evening Post reporter, 1907)

That debauched medium, the cinema, has certainly corrupted me. Those hours in the close-packed darkness viewing lowbrow entertainment with the profligate, uneducated masses has stirred my imagination. Just see what it's got me started on. (Look closely and you might be able to work out what this project is; if not, all will - hopefully - become apparent over the next few weeks.)

Anything Goes
