Goat / Ziege

Goats were one of the first animals to be tamed by humans, around 9,000 years ago.

Sadly, we have been killing and eating them ever since; goat is the most consumed meat per capita in the world.

Maybe if we appreciated them more we would treat them better?

Who can’t warm to an animal which can be taught its name and come when called.

And they share our love of coffee: Ethiopian legend has it that its stimulant properties were first noticed after a goatherd found his flock frolicking with extra verve after consuming coffee berries.

Best of all, like us, they give birth to kids (though unlike for them, for some reason we don’t call it “kidding“!).
