LD 452 Shelters for the times

The local community development trust, which Cathleen chairs,  recently obtained funding to build two outdoor shelters (one in Colintraive, the other in the Clachan of Glendaruel) for community use .

The decision to build them arose out of a desire for more contact than is presently possible, but also a recognition that it is better for that contact to be, for the foreseeable future, as much in the open air as possible.   There was a consultation in both places which came up with the final plans.

They can, and will be , places where producers markets can be held ,  open air events staged,   shelter for those playing or spectating can be found  ( as they are close to the bowling green in one case and the shinty filed in the other) and probably  will serve many other purposes too.

The Colintraive one is being erected (with the roof and  some side panels still be fitted)  but the only sign of progress at the Clachan is the shape picked out in upright canes.   None the less they should, apparently  both be in operation with a matter of weeks.
