Imperfect

...maple doughnut for Father’s Day. For me, maple is about the most wonderful flavor, second to butterscotch, but to W. there’s no beating it. However, we have done better creating doughnuts on past Father’s Days; these were lumpy, unrisen, and a bit too toasty. D. told me they looked (pre-frosting) like charred plantains (to make me laugh, successfully). W. told me they were delicious.

Generally grumpy teenagers today, and the muggy heat is back. Sigh.
