Crumbling Cliffs

It has been raining for most of the day, and apart from the gulls, there have been few people on the beaches. The cliffs in East Devon are mainly composed of sandstone and red marl, though in the distance Beer Head is an outcrop of chalk. The sandstone and marl cliffs here are constantly crumbling and when a large clifffall occurs the sea  is stained brown. In this scene the results of two recent cliff falls can be clearly seen.
