A Tiny Garden in NE Wales

By aTinyGarden

Longest Day

Midsummer's day, longest day, yet we've been under cloud today. No sunshine, but it's bright and warm ish. A cold wind descended on us in the afternoon and by late afternoon the temperature had dropped a lot. Fire is on and I've put the fluffy blanket back on the bed.

Blip is one of the visitors to the garden today. Mainly hoverflies Eristalis like this one. It's a female, they have a gap between the eyes. Males have no gap. Couldn't get a decent shot of the body markings to classify which Eristalis. Usually a pertinax or a tenax.

Extra is a collage of some of the latest flowers to open.
