Sawn Rocks

We had great day, driving 360km in a round trip from Narrabri to Bingara, Warialda, Moree and back.
First stop was the Sawn Rocks, a very impressive geological formation resulting from the even cooling of volcanic lava.

Bingara and Warialda are small hamlets where there wasn’t much in the way of options for lunch but we managed to find a cafe straight out of the 1950s. Seeing I am celebrating one of those dreaded decade birthdays it was good to feel 10 years old again as I tucked into a very traditional Aussie hamburger and milkshake. I can tell you there was absolutely no resemblance to McDonalds.

We were curious to see Moree, despite its reputation as having one of the highest crime rates in the state. It looked quite nice, and bigger than its population would suggest. The photo of me in the bottom right of the collage was taken there.

Now we are about to hit the Narrabri Thai restaurant for a birthday dinner :-)
