Another flower I haven't looked closely at before! We have a large Portuguese Laurel at the rear of a group of shrubs which help to shelter us from the road. The general appearance of the upper flower spikes is long, curved & off-white, very mundane, but I happened to go in underneath yesterday (checking on the dog who'd disappeared in there!) & noticed that the more sheltered flowers were worth booking for an appointment with my macro lens today. I like the colour contrast & the spiky appearance of the stamens radiating outwards - & the way they're unfurling in the younger flowers.
