If The Cap Fits..

Today’s Blipfoto shows the cap dislodged from one of the gate pillars has been turned over to reveal the damage done to the top.

This required two strong masons working closely together. Covid 19 requirements meant that the work could only be done now, nearly a year on.

After the required repairs are carried out it will then be lifted carefully into position using a small crane.

The other good news received today is that we finally received Listed Building Consent to go with the Planning Permission to a Grade A building.

COVID-19 meant that communications with Fife Council and Historic Environment Scotland could only be by email and a wide range of drawings, photographs, and other documents.

Our design proposals have not changed through the long drawn out process. It was the need to justify in written form what was already drawn, and then for everything to be considered by the powers that be. They were all working remotely from home.

Our work is done and we celebrated with a bottle of bubbly.
