Friday treat

So happy it’s not hot. Every year I stress about forthcoming heatwaves. No doubt there’s one round the corner.

We went for our ‘long’ walk into town, via the Royal Bath and Marriott slopes. I started to fade as it warmed, but at least there was a light refreshing breeze around.

Quite busy around the pier and in town. Several rowdy stag party groups - weddings are back.

Returned home to a cup of tea. Then prepared the 2 artichokes ‘M’ kindly bought for me. One of my favourite foods. One demolished earlier.

So artichokes it is for ‘Flower Friday’. And ‘Wild Flowers in an unusual setting’ for Wildflower Week (wildflowers in a saucepan are unusual?).

NB “ The artichoke is a thistle, meaning part of the daisy family. It is technically a wild flower. Each little layer we eat is a flower bud that has yet to bloom” (courtesy of https://www.veestro.com/blogs/food-for-thought/is-it-a-flower-or-a-vegetable-discover-the-artichoke)
