Chim Chimney

Girl and her dancing buddies. One of the scenes from the end of year production, shared today in the school blog.

I got a lovely email from her house parent today. Aside from the fact she was basically whinging that Katie has a lot of stuff, she also took the time to say how well Katie has done, how loved & respected she is by the staff and how many friends she's made at the boarding house and at school. She said she knows how hard it's been for Katie but that it's been a joy to have her. She said Katie finds it too hard to deal with her emotions she feels when she talks to me, so she takes the decision - sometimes on consultation with her- to not call.

However, today she finally called after five days! She was worn out from the camp out after freaking out with the shadows and noises and things, she basically didn't sleep. So she's still on catch up. She enjoyed the rest of the night though.

She played at school in assembly on Wednesday, a new thing for her. She arranged and did an accompanist rehearsal and played, though not the piece she was expecting to play. But it went well.

She's actually looking forward to having a weekend with just the two of her boarding buddies. Previously, she's been not impressed to be bored, but she's got an audition on Saturday and a ballet lesson on Sunday, then lots of quiet time.

Only a week til she's home!
