First evening in the Lakes and a surprise visitor on the balcony! He walked nonchalantly along the rail and onto the cover for the hot tub, where he - presumably - warmed himself before moving on.
Decided to stay local today and walked from Broadgate up to Swinside Stone Circle - an almost perfect circle of megaliths, of which 51 remain - it is perhaps some 4000 years old. I love this historic sites and that sense of walking along the ancients.
Cloudy in the morning it brightened as the day unfolded, with gorgeous views of the Duddon Estuary, windmills in the water and even a distant Blackpool Tower. Skirting Black Combe the Dunnerdale Fells outline the sky like miniature Alps - wonderful vistas.
