At the taylor's

Helen and I got the train up to London Bridge and then walked into the West End.

We walked along the South Bank as far as Hungerford Bridge. It was hugely busy. The crowds (mostly unmasked) made us uneasy, but I became additionally uncomfortable as I got a (rare) attack of hayfever, seemingly brought on by some trees near the Tate Modern art gallery. It wasn't until we crossed the river and walked up Northumberland Avenue and through Trafalgar Square that the dry throat and occasional coughing subsided.

One justification for our walk was to collect Gus's suit (ordered the previous week from Charles Tyrwhitt in Jermyn Street. We stopped for a drink in the nearby Red Lion (first drink in a central London pub since early 2020), then collected the suit - which had been altered.
