i discovered laurel’s artwork - late along the way - but was drawn to it - due to her use of - vibrant colors and oversized - images of all - kinds of cats - as well as her - use of nature - in general and our - connection to it - as i got to know laurel - i found out - she had no formal - training in art - in fact not even - a high school degree - plus she suffered - with chronic pain due - to a rare bone disease called osteopetrosis

she turned her suffering - towards her art - using it as an outlet - for joy and comfort - perhaps that’s why i - am drawn to it - maybe you will be too - and can allow yourself - to experience what - she wrote about this piece - ‘you make me believe in dreams’ - and with that - together we can have...
