Painted Turtle

Today was a sunny hot day. It felt like 38C this afternoon. I got out for a walk in the morning but needed to cut it short as it was getting too hot. I got out again in the evening and spotted this painted turtle trying to dig a hole to lay eggs. I did not have time to stick around to watch but hopefully she was successful.
