First Red Admiral

Sunday 27th June 2021                    (backblip)

A damp start but the weather cleared up during the morning & gave us a dry afternoon

The sun did keep trying to break through the clouds but wasn't overly successful ...... the wind was rather blowy which made getting some photos interesting!

We had our usual walk up the road ...... saw Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Dunnock, Magpies, Blackbird & Great Tit with young

Also saw this Blue Tit feeding its young ..... had to include this photo even though it's not the best! :-)

We saw a lot of newly emerged Small Tortoiseshell butterflies on the bramble flowers .... had to include this one .... also saw a Meadow Brown who didn't stop for photo & this Red Admiral who posed beautifully :-)

I also loved this photo of the Common Mallow growing up the riverbank :-)

Struggled to decide .... had about four more I would have liked to use as well .... hope you like my choices :-)
