I was taking photos of this tiny pink flower when a 'buzzer' landed on it. The flower is a Pink Purslane, Portulaca pilosa, and is about as large as my thumbnail. It's native to the Americas with a range extending from the Southern U.S. and the Caribbean south into Brazil. The little 'buzzer' is a variety of Sweat Bee, so named because they reportedly are attracted to perspiration. And although I was 'perspiring' profusely,  the tiny bee was much more interested in the flower's pollen than my sweat!
My thoughts today, like many of our's, are focused on the tragedy ongoing in Miami. I hold the victims and their loved ones in my heart.
