Seaburn

The railings here have been painted to match the same colour they were when they were painted by LS Lowry. There is a painting by him of the railings and the sea beyond in Sunderland museum. Lowry spent a lot of time in Sunderland and did many paintings here. He always stayed in the same room in the Seaburn hotel (now called the Grand Hotel).
We saw 2 pods of dolphins off the coast but they were too far away for a picture.
