I Hope You Like My Red Nose.

Since this is 'Comic Relief' day, this just had to be my blip.

Up at the park, a number of birds were sporting red noses. The oystercatchers were keeping theirs hidden under a layer of mud as they teased the worms out of the football pitches. The moorhens weren't so shy and kept theirs washed clean, so here is a cooperative moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) on the boating lake.

Other news from the Beveridge Park:

1) The heron was back in its usual spot, but not itchy today.

2) The colour-ringed-coot was still there in its usual location trying to cadge food from the visitors but rather intimidated by the geese.

3) The greylag geese flock was 30-40 strong today with a solitary Canada goose.
