Birthday Tortoise

We've all been busy today, preparing  for my Mother's 90th birthday afternoon tea party tomorrow. Glasses and wine( plus, optimistically, a wine chiller and bags of ice) have  been collected, and cakes and pastries  baked.  This  afternoon it rained heavily but, fortunately, the forecast for tomorrow is much better. 
The  nine year old  grand-daughter of Mum's neighbours came around  with an early birthday present. It was  the  perfect gift for someone who is famed for owning an elderly tortoise. The neighbours have, on several occasions, had to re-capture the tortoise  when he has made an escape bid, and  have looked after him when  Mum has been on holiday.  This tortoise  looks less trouble.
