Eighty

My mom Kathy’s milestone birthday today - celebrations and happiness.

Lunch with Kristie and B at her West Seattle apartment, and a drive around sparkling, hopping, happy, flowering Alki. Today was the lowest tide of the year. The Olympic Mountains were hazy over the Sound, and lots of people were playing on the extra-extra wide beach.

A couple friends joined us for dinner out and then later at Mom’s house for cake - angel food with chocolate cream and heath bar crumbles. D. bashed the heath bars, I baked the cake, and W. decorated it with the crumbles and chocolate syrup.

The AC is fixed and the evening is cool...hooray!

It felt comfortable going out to eat (masked except at the table)...very grateful.

Above all, grateful for my lovely mom.
And I hope she sleeps really well tonight. :-)
