Orchid meadow - Dactylorhiza fuchsii

There are hundreds of these lovely spotted orchids in the field by the stream. I was a little disappointed to find that they are common spotted orchids. The latin name sounds much posher. Growing amongst the masses of buttercups and red clover they look very exotic and they are a wonderfully uplifting sight. Further on at the ponds, the geese and swan families were all chilling out at the edges of the ponds. I could see two cygnets but there may have been more. I do hope so.
